Enshrouded

Enshrouded sits in an awkward spot genre-wise that turns out to be its strength. It is a survival crafting game with the pacing and visual language of a survival horror game. You are on a hostile planet called Erith, working against a timer that is really the fog, and the fog is coming for you whether you are ready or not.

The 1.0 release in 2024 moved the game off early access and onto consoles. Since then the update pattern has been consistent and worth tracking: a named update roughly every couple of months, each one adding a new region or a new threat tier, plus ongoing work on the survival systems underneath.

The most important thing to know when reading a date here is that Enshrouded updates have historically shipped alongside a wipe of your base. That is not a bug and it is not always a full wipe, but progress that depends on permanent structures can be at risk. Players who read the patch notes before logging in tend to lose much less than players who log in optimistically.

On the console versions specifically, expect the update cadence to lag the PC one by a short interval. If you play on PlayStation or Xbox, a date visible on the PC side may arrive on console days later, which is worth factoring in before you block an evening to log in and find nothing new.
